GardenBuddies (Game Jam Edition)
A downloadable little plant game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
In this relaxing life simulator you help Mutsy (a small apple buddy) to get friends, party hard, create a lush garden, build a community, and find inner piece!
Have comforting conversations with a wild variety of kind and fun characters, plant flowers and build structures to make this empty garden feel like a home while learning techniques to battle stress and anxiety!
Move by holding the middle mouse button and dragging
Rotate by holding the right mouse button and dragging
Zoom in by scrolling your mousewheel
Click on the Buddies to follow, talk and dance!
The game takes about 30 minutes to fully complete!
The game can be completely played with 1 hand and doesn't require intense gaming skills, this is a calm and relaxing little experience!
This game was made for the "May Day Mental Health game jam" with our main goal being to not only make this a fun game but to also to teach the player how to better deal with stress and anxiety.
In the game we teach the player techniques like box breathing, grounding and discussing emotions while still keeping the game entertaining and cute! We tried to make the game as positive as possible, and we think it really shows!

seems really cute and fun but unfortunately i dont think i can play? after the opening talk with a little pale veggie, it simply just wont let me move or anything! im not sure if i am supposed to just wait while it takes me somewhere (if so i waited 4 minutes before realizing nothing was going to happen) but ive tried every key on my keyboard and No Reaction. It looks adorable though! Im sure its a wonderful little game
oh how unfortunate, did you try to use the mouse? Because our whole game you play with mouse instead of keyboard.
no mouse response either, however that could be on my end as a trackpad user. thank you for the response though!
In the mac version the ground of the garden shows up as bright pink. Cute game though

I love this game so much and it is so super cute but i have noticed some issues, with the current version, you can focus on a buddy but you can't un-focus, meaning you are "doomed" to follow them around forever. I've also noticed sometimes a buddy gets stuck in pathfinding because it can't pick a flower that grew between the tiles of the outer border of the garden. Lasty, and I don't know if this feature is intended or not, but you can't quit the game. I clicked menu to see if i could find controls info, and had to restart. I love this game very much already, however, and would love to see how it grows!
I ended up making a lovely little garden and would love to see more of this game!
